10 July 2018: A Moment of Reflection

I came to Kenya by faith. I knew that I had to be here but the scope of the purpose was not clear until I got here. You can’t walk in faith and expect to know what to do next. You have to be in the environment of the need to make a difference. I am constantly learning every single day why I am here. What I thought I needed to do was only the vehicle to get me here. It wasn’t set in stone in having a rigid schedule. I had to be flexible in every aspect. I had to use what tools I had to teach and maximize the learning. I came here to teach and found out that the school is in a music festival competition for the first time. Listen……I have learned that life here is slower compared to the busyness in the US that I have been accustomed to. Everything is not as serious here to where you would be emotionally driven in your responses and actions. This mission has been a journey and I have leaning on God every step of the way. I am loving how I am learning how God speaks, not always in words but through the children, or other creative ways to do what He has designed me to be and do. There is a sweet and gentle nudge He gives to allow me to see who He is for me and others on that day. I am lovin’ this journey but I hope that this post is a help to anyone who has been wanting to know what your purpose is. To be honest, it is found in God. And once you see Him, He will walk you step by step. Embrace the journey of God’s love first. Everything is a piece of cake!
